Bianchi pulled off a stunning drive to give Marussia and himself their first ever points. These are the first points scored by any team that Began operation in 2010. Bianchi punched above his weight today. He fought off a grid penalty, and two stop and go penalties to finish 9th. That would be a stunning drive for a top car, but he did this in the dog of a car he had. Simply amazing. These points will definitely help his career and maybe get him into a competitive machine which will be amazing because as he showed today, he is one of the most talented drivers on the grid. Marussia probably locked 11th in the constructors championship this year with these points. This was just one high point in what has been the best Monaco GP in years IMHO. There is possibility that these points will be taken away, but I think that they should stay because they factored in the penalty into his final time and even if they take the points and position, they can't take away the ballsy and incredible drive that Bianchi put in today.

Update: The points will stand. Jules Bianchi, the promising young French star who is part of the prestigious Ferrari Driver Academy, and currently races for Marussia in the Formula 1 World Championship. He has officially scored both his own and his team's maiden points. F1's resident homecoming team showed up in a big way today. The statistics have shown that it has been the worst team in F1 since its inception as Virgin Racing in 2010, but the plucky little team has seized its moment after spending 4 full seasons as F1's own red caboose. Jules was considered one of the most talented young prospects in the sport even before his amazing drive earlier today. While almost every insider, outsider, and wrongsider recognizes his immense talent, most analyst believed that he was doomed to an unremarkable career consisting of acting as a mobile chicane in shit cars, and if he was lucky he could end up as a Ferrari test driver after his active racing seat hopes fizzled. Now he has to show that this was not a fluke and that he can be better relied upon to bring his car home in one piece. Even if he and his car can't repeat the feat of the Magic Marussia in Monaco, he has shown that when given the opportunity that he can deliver big. He has silenced the doubters that said he would be gone next year, shown that he is capable of things that should be impossible, moved up on any list of candidates to fill vacancies on both midfield and top teams, and dropped the jaws of everyone watching that Magic Marussia in Monaco. Someday I will brag about watching the little Bianchi that could haul his Magic Marussia around Monaco

Well because of the second penalty he's classified 9th, but still a great job.

I'm so happy. As much crap as Marussia is given they are a plucky little team.

Man when I make a t-shirt based off of your name I will have my pick of any girl who isn't too drunk to read, who happens to be a huge f1 fan that would get the reference, and who happens to be in NOLA for mardi gras. There has to be at least 1 girl who would fit those requirements...I hope.

P.S.

Let me know if you decide to show up in NOLA for Mardi Gras for whatever reason. Ill make you a shirt too and we can split up to better our chances of finding girls who would get it.

Don't know what ill put on them yet other than the words "Minardi Gras" yet. How much more I put on it depends on the cost, but I hope to have it illustrated and you just saved me the trouble of picking the car to put on it because that car will work so well on a purple T. I say purple because even though green and gold are also colors of mardi gras, yellow is a terrible color for a shirt meant to wear for the festivities because if you are doing mardi gras right, stuff will spill on your shirt, and green just wont make the car look as good (even though it and purple are roughly equally good colors for mardi gras shirts.

You guys should pitch the design to Blipshift. Would be fun to have yet another shirt with a Jalop's username on it.

Good call. I could even hold a contest to design the shirt here on oppo. It would definitely make designing it less work for me (even if blipshift doesn't pick it up), and if I tried to design it myself, it would end up shit.

I'm not a very good designer, and I couldn't draw to save my life, but if it gets made, I'm definitely buying it :)
